Austin sales software and data startup Tenfold is expanding its runway with a new $7.5 million Series C investment led by local venture capital firm Next Coast Ventures.

The startup announced the deal Tuesday, noting that its prior investors -- Andreessen Horowitz, Geekdom Fund and Salesforce Ventures -- also contributed to the new round. That brings its total funding to just north of $38 million.

Tenfold's platform connects phone systems with CRMs and other enterprise management systems. The software brings data from those systems into a dashboard to equip customer service representatives with information from internal programs that may show the customer's history with the company and other relevant data. It also helps decision makers spot new ways to solidify customer relationships and analyze their progress across a variety of metrics.

Tenfold currently has a 35-person team. Of that, 28 in Austin and others are in satellite offices abroad. It recently focused its hiring strategy on Austin, adding 18 jobs here this year. It plans to boost its headcount by 25% next year. Tenfold has customers across 60 countries, including large telecommunication, insurance and health care businesses.

The company plans to continue building out its capabilities, including a real-time cloud integration layer, and expand support for more voice platforms and CRMs with the new funding. It currently has nine job openings on its site for engineering, sales and marketing positions in Austin and San Francisco.

“Customers are awaiting the day when they call into a support or service center and the agent on the other end knows exactly who they are and is enabled with relevant information right at their fingertips to provide personalized and efficient service,” Tenfold CEO Jeff Cotten said in a statement.

Salesforce also sees the software as a strong addition to its highly successful products.

“Tenfold provides Salesforce with the depth and breadth we need to better integrate the voice channel into our sales and service CRM and thus are a critical partner for us to enable a more human centric service experience that is effortless and personal," Salesforce Service Cloud EVP and GM Bill Patterson said in a news release.
