Boats, motorcycles, off-road vehicles and RVs are big business. Just glance out the window while rolling in or out of just about any city on a major highway.

So, even a small piece of the market represents big potential. And that's where Rollick Outdoor, Inc., is hoping to make a splash with its marketing platform, as well as its online and in-store experience solutions for manufacturers and retailers.

The startup, led by TrueCar Co-Founder Bernie Brenner, came out of stealth mode Wednesday when it announced it has raised a $5.6 million seed round. The new funding was led by Austin's Silverton Partners. Other participants in the round include Menlo Park, Calif.-based Autotech Venture, Santa Monica, Calif.-based Troy Capital Partners, Capital Factory and data.world founder Brett Hurt.

Silverton Partners General Partner Morgan Flager will join Rollick's board of directors as part of the deal.

Rollick plans to use the funding to make new hires, especially in sales, and to roll out its product across the nation at the start of 2018. The company's executive team includes President Amit Maheshwari, the former senior vice president of global enterprise solutions at Cox Automotive, and Mike Timmons, a former executive vice president of dealer sales at TrueCar.

“Bernie and his team have a tremendous amount of experience in auto retail innovation and we see that applying to these new categories,” Flager said.
