Sometimes, things don't go as planned.

Even though entrepreneurs and founders have a brilliant idea, passion, hustle, funding and customers, failure is always a possibility and a natural part of the startup ecosystem.

We all know the statistic: about 90% of all startups fail. According to data from SmallBizGenius, access to talent (63%) was the critical issue affecting most startups and the cause behind their failure in 2019. Only half of all startups will ever reach their fifth birthday, and only a third will survive for 10 years or more.

To set the stage for our upcoming Inno Autopsy feature later this week, where we hold an honest Q&A with a local founder about a failed idea or startup, we've compiled a list of the Georgia startups and tech companies that have closed in 2019.

This data was collected via Crunchbase. See a closed or shuttered business that's not on this list? Email mhogan@americaninno.com.
