Office Envy: Moneypenny’s U.S. headquarters in Duluth features greenery and eclectic decor

As more companies are toying with downsizing their office space and moving toward a hybrid or remote model, Moneypenny opened its U.S. headquarters in Duluth, Ga., bringing a bright and cheerful vibe to its new space.

For Eric Schurke, CEO of North America for VoiceNation-Moneypenny, the office is an important space that he doesn’t think should be synonymous with your home. That blur makes work-life balance much harder, he said, and collaboration between team members isn’t as easy.

His favorite aspect of the office is affectionately called “The Middle,” a space with a kitchen and reading chairs that is meant exclusively as a gathering spot for employees to talk and brainstorm together.

Moneypenny, a United Kingdom-based virtual receptionist and answering services company, opened its U.S. location in Duluth because it acquired VoiceNation and Ninja Number, which are both based in the Atlanta area.

VoiceNation’s old home was about 15 minutes from the new office, said Schurke, who started with VoiceNation. It made sense to set up shop where those employees were already based. Moneypenny plans to keep the VoiceNation brand.

With about a 30% growth rate as more companies began outsourcing calls to the combined companies, Schurke said they needed more space. He plans to add about 50 more U.S.-based employees to the 200-person team.

The 27,000-square-foot office, located at 2915 Premiere Parkway, has a capacity of about 225 employees, though Schurke said about 90 are currently allowed in order to follow Covid-19 safety precautions.

The office has an industrial raised ceiling and a light and spacious feel with an array of greenery. It’s modeled after Moneypenny’s U.K. office, which features a treehouse, sun terrace and pub

The U.S. headquarters has sound-proofed desk pods with headsets for receptionists on calls and a variety of armchairs and coaches for employees.

But, you don’t need me to tell you about it. Take a look at the gallery above.
