PlayOn! Sports, one of the fastest-growing private companies in Atlanta, is pulling another leader from Turner Sports.

Lesley Wainwright will oversee the company’s legal affairs as its first chief legal officer. She previously worked as the senior vice president of distribution legal affairs for Warner Bros. Discovery, where she managed legal teams and served as counsel for CNN Digital and Turner Sports.

PlayOn! Sports streams high school athletics and helps teams with scheduling and administration, marketing and digital ticketing. The company partners with the National Federation of State High School Associations to provide live and on-demand games of high school sporting events and other activities across all 50 states.

Founded in 2008 by CEO David Rudolph, PlayOn! Sports is the No. 32 fastest-growing private company in Atlanta, according to Atlanta Business Chronicle research. Between 22020 and 2022, its revenue spiked 297% and its workforce grew 68%.

Wainwright’s appointment is the latest step of growth for the company. In 2022, Matt Hong, formerly at Turner Sports, became the president and chief operating officer.

That same year, PlayOn! Sports received a “significant” investment from global investment firm KKR and existing Atlanta-based firm Panoramic Ventures. KKR also has investments in food delivery giant DoorDash and video game giant Epic Games. Financial terms of its PlayOn! Sports investment were not disclosed.

In April 2022, PlayOn! Sports merged with GoFan, a digital ticketing company, which expanded its features.
