Former Salesforce executive Stephen Hsu is joining scheduling software startup Calendly as its newest chief product officer.

In his new role, Hsu will oversee product management, growth and user experience teams for the company, according to an announcement. Hsu will expand the software’s enterprise features and platform capabilities.

Hsu was a senior vice president of product and general manager at Salesforce, where he oversaw product organization at MuleSoft LLC, a subsidiary that provides integration software for connecting applications and devices. Prior to this role, Hsu served as a vice president of product management for Sales Cloud, another Salesforce subsidiary, and as head of product at software solutions provider Directly Inc.

Hsu replaces Annie Pearl, who now serves as a vice president of growth and ecosystems with Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT).

The announcement is the latest in Calendly's C-suite changes, which is occurring during a turbulent period for both startups and legacy tech companies. Investors are prioritizing profits over growth, causing some major tech companies and startups alike to cut costs and lay off employees.

In January, Calendly appointed veteran startup executive Jessica Gilmartin as its chief marketing officer, and two quarters prior, appointed Jone McCauley as its chief financial officer. Other recent additions include chief revenue officer Kate Ahlering, chief information security officer Frank Russo and chief customer officer Tina Dobie.

Calendly’s origin story is deeply rooted within the Atlanta innovation ecosystem. CEO Tope Awotona founded the startup in the Atlanta Tech Village in 2013 with an investment from serial entrepreneur David Cummings.

After that initial funding, Awotona grew the company without any other outside investments until January 2021, when Calendly raised $350 million, surpassing a $3 billion valuation.

Calendly has over 600 employees and over 10 million users across 155 countries. The company was formerly headquartered in Atlanta, though switched to a remote-only model of work in 2021.
