Chalk up another win for electric vehicles in Georgia.
In this year's Atlanta Inno Madness, No. 1 seed EnviroSpark Energy Solution Inc. topped underdog No. 7 seed Emergy in the tournament's final round.
In the battle of clean energy startups, EnviroSpark earned 52% of the more than 1,800 votes, its thinnest margin of the tournament. The EV charging company beat Lilli RNB Inc. by 28% in round one, followed by Saltbox (by 12%), SnapNuse (by 14%) and My Panda (by 50%).
Founded in 2014, EnviroSpark designs, installs and operates EV charging stations, with clients that include real estate firms Wood Partners and Starwood Capital Group. It has over 100 employees. Current and former executives from Georgia Power, The Home Depot, Chick-fil-A and Post Properties are among its investors, according to the company.

The startup's popularity is of note considering Georgia is emerging as an electric mobility hub. Since 2020, the state has attracted $21.9 billion in EV-related projects and 28,000 jobs, according to new data from economic development officials.
Emrgy Inc., a hydropower startup with hardware and software that works with existing water infrastructure, confirmed earlier this week that it raised $18.4 million to expand.
