Vacmobile Corp. is the latest startup accepted into an Atlanta program that has helped generate some of the city's most successful tech companies.

Vacmobile software allows users to upload their immunization history on a mobile device to send that data where it’s required. It will join the Advanced Technology Development Center’s Accelerate portfolio. ATDC is a business accelerator based out of the Georgia Institute of Technology that has launched over 190 startups since 1980 such as Salesloft and Playon! Sports.

Vacmobile will remain housed in Tech Alpharetta but will work with ATDC’s mentors to scale.

Founded in April of 2020, Vacmobile software can assist employers and individuals trying to adhere to regulations.

When founder Jennifer Sparks moved her consultancy company 7 Sparks LLC from Albuquerque to Atlanta in 2018, she soon discovered her kid’s vaccination records from New Mexico were not valid proof of immunization to register them for school in Georgia.

“That was the first moment I had an inkling that vaccination records aren’t created equal and that it’s imperative that vaccination records are in the appropriate form for a jurisdiction you’re living in and that they're all jurisdictionally managed.” Sparks said.

Upon realizing the market potential of digitizing vaccine records, she was convinced of the opportunity.

“Just one error in transcription from a handwritten document into a database can result in an inability to find that data,” Sparks said. “You need a way for people to be able to self-report quickly and efficiently, that's where an automated platform with A.I. that allows enterprises to sort out the records that need more manual attention is invaluable.”

The market potential for the company stands at around $100 billion in the U.S., said Sparks, though the platform can scale globally. Over 100 million people in the U.S. are required to provide proof of vaccination for work or education every year, according to the company.

Vacmobile has raised $1.7 million to date and is in the process of raising another $1.5 million in seed funding from angel investors who Sparks declined to identify. It is commercializing and has multiple patents pending, she said. It is also preparing request for proposals for publicly traded healthcare systems with thousands of employees in universities and airports.
