Global IT consultancy Xebia has acquired digital specialist SwissQ to extend Xebia’s reach into Switzerland, give SwissQ offshore and nearshore capabilities and increase access to a customer base of 4,000 technical experts.

Xebia, which has a U.S. hub in Atlanta, provides software engineering and IT consultancy services. Its clients include Disney, Levi’s, Ahold Delhaize, Tesco, Philips, and ING Bank among others.

SwissQ generates 90% of its revenue through consultancy and is a prominent IT training provider in Switzerland. The company employs over 120 experts and holds offices in Zurich and Bern.

The move will augment SwissQ’s services portfolio and partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. It will also boost SwissQ’s training offer with Xebia Academy curriculum.

Founded in 2001, Xebia has over 4,000 specialists working globally and has offices in the U.S., Europe, India, Vietnam, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and the U.K.

After growing organically for 19 years, Xebia switched its strategy in 2021 to begin acquiring companies with a goal of reaching a $1 billion valuation by 2024. In the past year, they have acquired six companies and plan to acquire six each year for the next two years.

Xebia currently has 102 employees in Atlanta with approximately 275 in the U.S. They will be looking to add another 250 across the U.S. in six to eight months.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that IT consultancy Xebia partnered with digital specialist SwissQ. The story has been corrected to show that Xebia acquired SwissQ.
