Two Atlanta startups are participating in the first annual Comcast NBCUniversal SportsTech Accelerator.

A William Pleshette Company, which produces the Ane Swim cap that keeps your hair dry, and XiQ, which produces a way to start small vehicles without a key, are two of 10 startups in the 2021 program.

The accelerator, which partners with Boomtown Accelerators, will last 12 weeks and take place virtually. Comcast picked the 10 startups out of more than 1,000 applicants in 70 countries, according to the news release.

“At Comcast NBCUniversal, sports, entertainment, and technology are central to what we do across our streaming, broadband, and aggregation businesses,” said Sam Schwartz, Comcast Cable’s chief business development officer. “Our inaugural SportsTech accelerator brings together this focus with our long tradition of working with founders and startups.”

The accelerator will include mentorship from Comcast NBCUniversal and the Boomtown network and a $50,000 investment. A demo day is set for May 26.
