As conversations about inclusion, diversity and prejudice circle not only the tech industry but the country, a woman-owned tech company has announced plans to bring offshore operations to the Atlanta metro.

Milletech Systems Inc., a software solutions and services company, states the move will create a total of 465 jobs. The company will recruit 100 Georgia college students each year for full-time positions in the cloud technologies space. They will work at the company's new software development center. According to Gov. Brian Kemp's office, Milletech Systems will scout students at local Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the University System of Georgia (which comprises of 26 public institutions across the state) and Atlanta's workforce development agency.

Those new jobs include positions in cloud software solutions, application management and support and analytical services.

“Milletech’s Software Development Center will create jobs in emerging cloud technologies and software development in the city of Atlanta, instead of offshoring those opportunities to other countries,” Nasir Mujawar, CEO of Milletech Systems Inc., said in a statement. “This facility is a first-of-its-kind software development center, which will provide career pathways to Georgia’s local talent pool while boosting the state economy.”

Milletech Systems already operates an office in Alpharetta. The new offshore operations will relocate to 1 Balitmore Place NW in Atlanta near Emory University Hospital. The building is home to several corporate innovation centers and resides in a Georgia State Opportunity Zone --- an area where the city creates opportunities and investments to revitalize low-income communities with the help of tax breaks for the companies that relocate there.

“In Atlanta, Milletech will have access to top technology talent and become part of a welcoming business community committed to innovation and success,” President and CEO of Invest Atlanta Eloisa Klementich said in a statement. “I would like to thank Milletech for not only their investment in the city, but also for their commitment to training and diversity to help local students grow their careers. The new jobs created through this expansion in a range of fields and salary levels will help more Atlantans to prosper.”

Milletech offers end-to-end business solutions to clients across North America in emerging technologies and provides software design and development. The company was founded in 2000.
