If there's one trait we have nailed down as a community, it's Southern hospitality and that good natured generosity you can't find anywhere else but Atlanta. One nonprofit group is giving tech professionals the opportunity to give back.

48in48, a nonprofit that connects tech workers and their skills with nonprofits in need, will host a hackathon in Atlanta on Oct. 4-6. For 48 hours, volunteers in Atlanta, New York and Raleigh will work together to build 48 websites for 48 nonprofits in 48 hours. The organization is currently looking for Atlanta volunteers for the website build teams, help desk, remote tasks, event tasks and even post-event jobs.

"There’s a couple concepts that we have ... [we] like the idea of companies participating as an employee engagement opportunity," Carole Williams, a 48in48 representative, told Atlanta Inno. "As soon as someone in one city has a good experience, they can share that experience with others."

The websites these nonprofits will use for free are each valued at about $25,000, Williams said.

To work on the website build teams, you actually don't need to know how to code. 48in48 will be building WordPress websites using the Beaver Builder theme, so no coding skills necessary. This team will need project managers, designers, content managers, digital marketers and Word Press gurus.

The help desk professionals team will also need volunteers to serve as advisors to the website builders. If you have experience in WordPress, SEO, design, content writing and quality assurance, this is the task for you.

Can't make it to the event? No problem. 48in48 will need remote volunteers to help fill in the gaps for any of the teams.

In addition to the website build teams, help desk professionals and remote volunteers, 48in48 needs volunteers for jobs that anyone can fill, including set up/breakdown, registration, food/drinks, doors, running errands and cleaning.

Following the event, 48in48 will need clean up team volunteers who can "clean up" the websites that need finishing touches or major overhauls and site migration if nonprofits decide to move their site from the 48in48 platform.
