A Santa Barbara, Calif., biotech company has moved its headquarters to Cobb County, bringing with it a $5 million investment into the community and more than 500 tech jobs.

BioIQ utilizes data analytics to simplify health testing and immunization programs for health plans, employers and government agencies, according to a news release. Notable customers include Walmart and Sam's Club.

"We see this move as a great opportunity to tap into the healthcare and technology talent that Atlanta has to offer," CEO Justin Bellante said in a statement. "And we're very pleased to be in a position to bring to the city some 500 new technology jobs as well as more than $5 million in investments in Cobb County to help fuel the city's growth and solidify its reputation as a tech mecca."

The company's platform configures and connects partner solutions–including national laboratories, diagnostics companies, digital health solution and more.

The biotech company established its Atlanta office in 2015 to help launch its national expansion in recent years. Last year, BioIQ secured $26.5 million in venture funding, along with a growing solution portfolio and base of clients.

The company has moved from its previous Atlanta location to a larger office space on Windy Ridge Parkway to accommodate more employees. The new, 18,000-square-foot office caters to 100 employees with extra space to house more workers in Atlanta.

"Our new Cobb County headquarters is a reflection of BioIQ's investment in its employees and commitment to bringing together talent, technology and innovation. Now, with a new influx of talent from the Atlanta area, we are on course to achieve our mission of positively impacting 100 million lives," Bellante said.

BioIQ works with more than 35 leading health plans, representing about 70 percent of insured lives in the U.S. BioIQ partners with more than 16,000 locations at retail pharmacies and lab testing centers throughout the nation.
