BIP Capital, a venture capital firm based in Atlanta, has selected Dan Drechsel as the firm's new senior vice president.

Drechsel, who most recently served as CEO at BIP Capital's portfolio company Wellview Health, will oversee the firm's investments in SaaS, fintech and devtools. He will continue to work with Wellview Health as the executive chairman of the company's board of directors, according to a news release.

"Dan has led high-growth venture companies over the course of his 30-year career," BIP Capital CEO Mark Buffington said in a statement. "His diverse experience as a software developer, marketer and C-suite executive gives him a unique set of skills to draw from—something that our portfolio companies that he has worked with have immediately taken notice of. He's also a great cultural fit with our team."

Throughout his career, Drechsel has grown and operated private equity and venture-funded companies, including S1 and Global Energy Decisions. He's served in numerous executive-level sales, marketing and engineering positions at enterprise software, fintech and tech-enabled services companies---among them SAP, ADP and Dun & Bradstreet. In addition to his executive career, Drechsel also works as an executive lecturer in marketing at Mercer University's Stetson School of Business and Economics. He has a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Georgia Tech and an M.B.A. from Mercer University.

Wellview Health is a predictive and preventative health organization based in Tennessee and founded in 2013. According to LinkedIn, Drechsel served as the company's CEO for a year and 7 months.

"It's always a thrill to participate in the creative growth and management of emerging businesses," Drechsel said in a statement.
