Just when you thought Atlanta real estate couldn't get any hotter, Georgia Power has officially announced plans for its first Smart Neighborhood, featuring home innovation technologies we're all geeking out over.
Headed for Atlanta's Upper West Side and set to open later this year, this Georgia Power initiative, a part of Pulte's Altus at the Quarter development, will offer state-of-the-art home automation, solar energy and battery storage from participating partners, according to a news release.
Alarm.com will offer professional monitoring and connect the home's smart devices in one mobile app for home owners. Homes will also be fully automated with GreenMarbles, known as Green Automation in Georgia, where the house automatically responds to a residents' activities, location and schedules to integrate thermostats, locks, lights, garage doors and water sensors.
Hannah Solar will install rooftop solar panels and battery storage for each home, in addition to Mercedes-Benz Energy home batteries that maximize clean energy usage by storing solar energy for use when the sun isn't out.
Sunverge Energy's Distributed Energy Resource (DER) control and orchestration platform is an edge/cloud-based virtual power plant, residential battery, and home energy management systems (HEMS) control software, which provides as much energy bill savings as possible.
The first 46 townhomes slated for Altus at the Quarter, located at the intersection of Marietta Boulevard and Bolton Drive, will be a part of the Georgia Power Smart Neighborhood development. Floor plan designs feature 2,349 square feet in a four-story townhome, with three to four bedrooms and a two-car garage. Prices for these units will be coming soon.
