Georgia State University has officially opened LaunchGSU, its new incubator and innovation program. The 3,000 square-foot LaunchGSU space will be located inside the University's newly renovated building at 58 Edgewood Ave. N.E.
The program, which already has over 60 members from across multiple majors, provides students with space to work on their venture and host meetings, as well as mentorship, workshops, panels, a mailing address and 24/7 access to technology. The program will also work to connect student founders to serial entrepreneurs in the region and host talks and tours with the city's other innovation hubs, like the Atlanta Tech Village.
LaunchGSU is part of a new Georgia State initiative to bolster entrepreneurship and innovation within the university.
Membership is free for students and applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
According to a statement from the LaunchGSU site, the incubator's mission is to provide "an internal infrastructure that supports the acquisition of technical and critical thinking skills through learning, discovery, experimentation, prototyping and execution."
LaunchGSU is just the latest center to join Atlanta's growing list of incubators and accelerators.
