RS21, an Albuquerque-based data and analytics company, on Wednesday announced a pair of new high-profile executives were added to its leadership team.
Dr. Mark Epstein will serve as RS21's chief medical officer and Matthew Ennis, Ph.D., will serve as the company's chief product and strategy officer.
"We are thrilled to welcome Mark [Epstein] and Matthew [Ennis] to RS21 as we continue evolving our service portfolio and new product arm," RS21's CEO, Charles Rath, said in a statement.
Epstein joins RS21 after serving as president and CEO of Albuquerque-based health insurance technology company True Health New Mexico, which he left in March 2022. He's recently advised and consulted other health care technology companies like TruFit, a Tijeras-based adaptive fitness startup, and U.K.-based Sanctuary Health.
"It's a company that has long valued doing good with data, with an incredible set of folks who understand the power of data science, particularly in the health space," Epstein told Albuquerque Business First about RS21. "The thing I'm most excited about is working with the folks to continue to grow the company so it'll touch more people."
Ennis joins RS21 from Build with Robots, the Albuquerque disinfection robotics startup, where he served as chief strategy officer. He worked at Build with Robots for nearly three years.
"I see a tremendous amount of opportunity within RS21," Ennis told Business First. "The team that they've pulled together, the past work and the direction, the mission, the values all lead to a tremendous opportunity.
"I would just encourage people to watch RS21 because some exciting things are on the verge of happening," he added.
Epstein and Ennis' starts at RS21, which has offices in Albuquerque and Washington, D.C., come as a few people serving in leadership positions have announced their departures from the data company.
One is Kameron Baumgardner, who announced his exit as chief technology officer on LinkedIn in March. Angelica Maestas, who led RS21's Health Lab and spoke at the White House on behalf of the company late last year, announced her departure on the social platform last month, too.
Former Director of Development Joshua Rivera and Director of Design for UX/UI Jessica DuVerneay, also used LinkedIn in March and April, respectively, to say they're stepping away from RS21.
The company was recently tapped as part of a $50 billion government contract vehicle and was present at last week's Space Symposium in Colorado Springs with its artificial intelligence-backed satellite technology, called SPAICE.
