Back in February, we profiled 10 companies as part of our New Mexico Inno Startups to Watch feature.
It’s a special section we plan to do annually. But what’s the point if we don't actually watch them? With that, we recently started checking in with those startups to see how 2022 was progressing.
One of those 10 companies was Parting Stone, which provides an alternative to traditional cremation. It sells handheld stones that are made from human ashes and a binding agent.
Founded in 2019, the company recently moved into a larger facility in Santa Fe to allow for increased production capacity. And that move appears to already be paying off.
New Mexico Inno recently caught up with Justin Crowe, the company's founder and CEO, to see how the past few months have gone for Parting Stone.
Biggest achievement in the past three months: Our biggest achievement of the last three months is that we increased production output to shorten our solidified remains lead time for families. Thanks to our production manager Kelse Lighthizer and work from the entire production team we increased monthly output by 188% from Jan. 1.
Next goal you hope to achieve: Our next goal is to decrease our costs through purchasing more sophisticated equipment and engineering custom solutions for solidifying human and animal remains into stones.
In three words, describe how 2022 has been for your business: Fast. Intense. Fun.
