Eight New Mexico companies are the recipients of $25,000 grants for companies that demonstrate the potential for high-growth, provide a unique product or service and could create jobs or garner private investment.

The Science and Technology Business Start-up grants were awarded by the New Mexico Economic Development Department, and are available to New Mexico-based for-profit science and technology companies with fewer than 50 employees.

Eligible businesses must work in one of the following fields: aerospace, biosciences, cybersecurity, intelligent manufacturing or sustainable and green energy.

Out of more than 70 applications, the eight companies receiving science and technology grants are:

  • TNeuroPharma, which is based in Albuquerque and has a goal of developing a therapeutic for Alzheimer’s Disease by taking a new approach to diagnosis and treatment.
  • K&K Skin Products in Albuquerque wants to disrupt the skincare industry with a patent-pending product that reduces the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks.
