Global IT firm Speridian Technologies, headquartered in Albuquerque, is creating a new division after acquiring Helix Business Solutions.

Helix is located in Bartlett, Tennessee, (a Memphis suburb) and is an "industry leader" in Oracle Cloud customer-relationship management solutions, according to a March 23 email from Speridian spokeswoman Dakshina Thekkekalathil. The new business unit will offer advisory services for customers, plus system integration and support. Thekkekalathil's declined to provide the specific terms of the deal.

"We can offer more solutions to our clients," Speridian CEO Ali Hasan told Albuquerque Business First when interviewed about the deal, which closed Feb. 1 and was announced March 10. Kevin Sherwood, former CEO of Helix, will lead the new business unit as a chief business officer, according to Speridian.

Helix had about 35 employees at the time of its acquisition, according to Hasan. The company was founded in 2008 and has worked with Oracle products since its launch. In addition to the Memphis area, Helix has a presence in Bozeman and Dillon, Montana.

Speridian, based in Uptown Albuquerque, already has about 300 employees in the U.S. and roughly 1,000 workers globally. The IT firm's merger with Helix follows a string of merger-acquisition deals from across the country for Speridian.

Since 2017, Speridian has made at least three such deals, including with Irvine, California-based Xelleration. In 2020, Business Advantage Consulting Inc. out of Gold River, California, was scooped up by Speridian, which allowed an inroad into California's public sector. That deal came in addition to the purchase of MVP Consulting out of Albany, New York, in 2021.

“Our combined team is now unparalleled in the industry when it comes to empowering clients with modern digital CX solutions,” Sherwood said in a statement provided by Speridian.
