The Arrowhead Center at New Mexico State University, which helps commercialize technologies developed at the university, is seeking startups and entrepreneurs with ideas for how to create a sustainable future.

The New Mexico Clean Energy Resilience and Growth (NM CERG) program is for developing, validating and growing companies. Entrepreneurs and startups working in clean energy are encouraged to apply for the program.

Participants will be provided with access to facilities, lab expertise and domain experts for tech validation, according to the university.

The program activities are being funded with an Energy Program for Innovation Clusters award from the Department of Energy, according to Del Mackey, senior economic development officer at Arrowhead. Additional business programming is being created alongside NM CERG, while other existing programs are being tweaked to focus more on energy, according to Mackey.

“No single program in New Mexico has tackled taking clean energy technologies from very early stage to investment readiness using an integrated, streamlined pipeline model,“ said Dana Catron, Arrowhead Center deputy director, in a prepared statement. "NM CERG is aiming to capitalize on regional strengths in clean energy, and strong partnerships with Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories and the New Mexico Economic Development Department will allow New Mexico startups to leverage their expertise to commercialize game-changing technologies."
